Nikita Gurnani (B. 1992, San Francisco) is a painter based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her BA of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from California College of the Arts. In her work she explores figure and form, and seeks to expose intimate moments that are both sensual and bizarre. Nikita paints primarily on paper and showcases her process of drips, spills, pencil marks, and buckling surfaces. The chaos in materiality and technique make it easy to stray away from realism and embrace the abstract.
